The girls are very animated as the story progresses. They are huddled as close as can be, covering themselves with pillows and blankets. They shield their faces in terror as Rama lays dead. Screams can be heard echoing throughout the halls as they shriek in horror and in excitement.  By now they are completely invested, their faces show excitement, fear and a longing for eternal love and happiness.

The princess is locked in the tower of a castle, staring longingly out the window, awaiting the arrival of Rama. Back in the woods, a gazelle approaches the resting Rama as the smoke from the arrows begins to lift. He lay down to give his life. Rama awakes, still adorned with elaborate Indian jewels, covered in luxurious fabrics and blue paint. He runs. He runs to free his longing princess from the castle. As night falls upon Miss Minchin’s school, the girls begin to flood. They peer from the cracks of their doors, creeping down the long, wooden corridor so as not to allow a creak from the floor boards. They’re dressed in floor-length night robes, hair in pin curls atop their heads. Each is grasping a candle as she walks to the end of the dimmed hallway.

Three of them convene in Sara Crewe’s room. They rest on top of Sara’s bed, a cloud of pillows adorned with silk and immaculate beading. Sara’s face lights up as she continues the tale of the prince and his princess.

Rama returns to find his princess in the brush, but she is gone. He is greeted by a figure. A tall, gangly figure emerges with dozens of hands protruding from its body. The evil Ravana shoots 10 long, poisoned arrows through the air at Rama…
